For Immediate Release:
Toronto DJ/Production Duo Circle Research Sign To URBNET
March 1, 2010, Toronto ON. Circle Research, the globally acclaimed Toronto DJ/production duo, have signed with URBNET, Canada’s pre-eminent urban music label. Their latest LP Gardiner Express is the group’s third, coming on the heels of their much-loved Toronto hip-hop mix show (now a popular podcast on the web) and stellar production work with luminaries such as Ivana Santilli and K-OS.
Appearing just a year after the duo’s sophomore effort, Who?, was released on Germany’s Melting Pot Records, Cricle Research’s newest album marks a clear evolution in the group’s unmistakable sound. For Nik and Gil, the title Gardiner Express doesn’t just refer to the main highway connecting downtown Toronto to its uptown counterparts, it also represents a state of mind.

Via 1loveto! Producer, rapper and now director? Safe to say the future is looking bright for Rich Kidd (to say the least). He was one of 3 aspiring directors to win the City Life Film Project. Here’s the deets:
Calibre Entertainment, Temple Street Productions, The Remix Project and John Tory introduced 3 young filmmakers who won their chance to shoot their own film with the City Life Film Project. The launch of City Life marks another initiative in Toronto that continues to support our youth in the arts. We can’t wait to see what’s next…
Congratulations to Ana (left), Rich Kidd, and Ayanie (right).

PRESS RELEASE:
Toronto, ON; Dubbed as “next to blow”, two of Toronto’s most anticipated artists Rich Kidd and Blake Carrington are conquering Toronto for one night. Taking place at Lee’s Palace, “Everybody’s Watching Me” is a concert to celebrate a successful year for both MC’s and to thank the city that has celebrated them.
Carrington built his reputation as a gimmick-free, raw talent hailing from New York City but thriving in Toronto. His rap sheet to date includes top spot in over 12 freestyle battles, the winner for Canada’s Urban Exposure competition as well as a showcase at the Appollo and a stamp of approval from the Cool Kids after an opening slot. “Everybody’s Watching Me” will easily be a night to be remembered in Toronto history as both Rich Kidd and Blake Carrington are on the verge of international success.
Rich Kidd has developed an astronomical buzz within Canada as an MC and a producer, particularly for crafting hits for k-os, Drake, Busta Rhymes among many more. His 2009 mixtape “On Some Rich Kidd Ish 3” had world wide rotation, including accolades on renowned blogs such as 2 Dope Boyz.
One particular stand-out track on the mixtape is Blake Carrington’s “Everybody’s Watching Me” which is the basis for the February 25th jam.

Shouts to Eternia! If you haven’t been following E lately, basically her and Toronto-based producer MoSS have an album done called At Last. E took to the web with her “Road To Release” webisodes and started drumming up attention for the project in hopes of securing a record deal for the album. Well….looks like they actually did it and will be announcing which label they signed to on February 26th at the aply titled The “AT LAST” We Got a Record Deal JAM in NY. For more info on the event click here!
Also, check out a few new Eternia interivews (2 here, 2 down bottom):
Eternia on Beatminerz Radio
Watch what E has to say about a future Beatminerz collab, recording w/ female emcees, and what really happened when Eternia visited DJ Dummy’s studio in 2000 after opening for Common. DJ Evil Dee chimes in when he finds out E’s going to be @ SXSW & Bazarro runs like 10 of E’s tunes! E comes in at the 1:00:00 mark.
Eternia on The Bloom Effect
Watch what happens when E gets asked crazy left-field questions like “if you could sleep with anyone, who would it be?” and “If you could perform with anyone posthumously who would it be?”. This could get politically incorrect people…

Courtesy of MissInfo. The U.S. tour is called the “Campus Consciousness Tour” or “The Away From Home Tour” (???) and will also feature opening acts k-os (dope look!) and Francis & The Lights (a synth-pop band from NY). I’m sure there’s some science behind the first name that we just don’t know right now… “Away From Home” is part of 5th Annual Campus Consciousness Tour, produced by Pretty Polly Productions and non-profit environmental organization Reverb (from XXL).
So, U.S. tour set for April/May should mean solid dates for first single and album coming soon….Anyways, full tour dates under the hood.
