You need to know about this dude. If you’ve been to Manifesto then you’ve been a part of his movement. From the man himself:

Good day! I just arrived back from doing some amazing work in Kingston/Nine Mile Jamaica to a pleasant feature in Marketing Magazine. I was nominated and selected as a One to Watch – Top 10 under 30 years old, and am the youngest of the group. If you have a minute, please take a look.

Like most articles, some of the information is a bit off or misrepresented, but overall it is a good look. If you read and like it, please click the recommended tab so that it stays on their homepage for a little longer. Thank you for all your support and blessings.

(Toronto, Canada) On November 3rd, history will be made with the fourth installment of the Live Cypher Series. What happens when you put eight of Canada’s best rappers in one room? You realize very quickly, hip hop ain’t dead it lives in the north. The live internet event will be broadcast in HD from 6-8pm on Spiritlive.net and features: Adam Bomb, Bishop Brigante, Mayhem Morearty, Magnum 357, Peter Jackson, Jonny Roxx, Rich Kidd & Scorsese.

“I told all of the MCs, it’s time to make statements,” says Jonathon Brown, who started the Live Cypher Series a few years ago with Off Da Tracks’ Alex “Leche” Narvaez.

Partnering in the event is HipHopCanada.com, The Real Frequency Blog, Champ Magazine, Live The Culture, Itlivesinthenorth.com & Cityonmyback.com. Off Da Tracks’ DJ Dames Nellas will be handling the beats as Leche & Bizz host the event.

NEWS: Juno Submissions Still Open (Official Press Release)

hyperadmin | News | Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

SUBMIT HERE

Artists, don’t sleep on trying to get some much-needed national exposure. There is absolutely NO reason for you not to submit (as long as you have digital or physical distribution you can qualify). My 2 cents. Here’s the latest release from the Juno rap committee:

2010 JUNO AWARDS CALLS FOR RAP CATEGORY SUBMISSIONS & ANNOUNCES RAP ADVISORY COMMITTEE RE-STRUCTURING

Seeking submissions for Rap Recording of the Year and announces recent Re-Structuring of Rap Advisory Committee.

Toronto, ON (October 21, 2009) – The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) announced that submissions for The 2010 JUNO Awards are now open. Submission processes have been improved since last year, making it easier for Canadian artists to submit work for consideration in advance of the 39th edition of Canada’s Music Awards.  CARAS has again secured the services of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP to be the official ballot accountants for the 2010 JUNO Awards. The 2010 JUNO Awards week will be held in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, April 12-18, 2010.

In an effort to strengthen the relationship between CARAS and the national rap community, the advisory committee for the Rap Category has been restructured over the past year.   The newly restructured committee includes seasoned label representative Jay Devonish (E1 Entertainment), David “Click Cox” (Stylus DJ Awards), Greg Baptiste (MuchMusic/CTV), Jody Laraya (Universal Music), Jesse Plunkett (HipHopCanada.com), Melissa “DJ MelBoogie” Langely (CKLN 88.1FM), Jay Swing (Beat 94.5FM), Kyle Kraft (Battle Axe), Dice B (CINQ 102.3FM), Don Smooth (K103FM), rez DigitaL (Flow 93.5FM) and Darryl Rodway (Urbnet).

As a unit, the committee is making strides in developing outreach to rap artists across the country, both English and Francophone, to increase the number of submissions. By partnering with radio shows, online magazines and DJs across the country, the committee hopes to raise awareness throughout the community about the submissions and judging process, specifically for rap artists. “We’ve assembled a great team of people from around the country who are actively working in various aspects of the urban music scene,” says Jay Devonish, Chairman / JUNO Awards Rap Advisory Committee.  We’ve also worked closely with CARAS on the jury list to revise it and ensure the people voting on the Awards are qualified and active within the urban community.  We’re excited to work together with CARAS to ensure the rap community is properly represented at the JUNO Awards.”
