I hate these “Region” restrictions for online videos.
There’s a new Drake interview with MTV (U.S.) where he discusses the “Best I Ever Had” video backlash but we can’t watch it here in Canada (MTV.ca step your game up!!!).
The link to read the article is below though!
“I guess one thing I didn’t consider is what the song personally means to a lot of women to those women, I apologize. I do apologize. My intention wasn’t to put anyone down. It was to make them laugh. I wanted people to see something visually different.” – Drake
No, he’s not Latino but some of the talent is! Congrats to Mewa!!! This is the dude responsible for the Famous videos “Ain’t No Use“, “A Kid Tryna Make It“, “I’m Here” and “4th Biggest City” as well as Tona’s “Major” and the soon to be released 2nd version of “Fast Pace”! Moral of the story…don’t butt in line at Starbucks. From Mewa himself:
THE CONTRACT is heading to NYC July 31 – Aug 01! The short film directed by David F. Mewa has been invited to HBO’s 10th Annual New York International Latino Film Festival (NYILFF). It screens 2 nights at this prestigious festival celebrating Latin American’s in film. Big shout to Producer Ana Trinidad, co-stars Alexis DeLaRosa and Amanda Michaels and the talented writer Kevin Wynter. If you haven’t seen it already join us for 2 nights in lower Manhattan or watch the new festival cut online…
There’s something funny about Death Row now being owned by a Toronto-based company lol. All good. Was wondering what they were gonna do with all the material left over from rap’s biggest empire (as it says in the pic – apparently only 10% of everything they did ever came to market). My guess is that it’s because Dr. Dre was a perfectionist and the other 90% is trash (well, the music at least. I’m sure the video and picture content will be cool to see) but we’ll find out. Here’s the first look at what the company is planning:
TORONTO July 27, 2009 – This, September 1, 2009, WIDEawake Death Row Entertainment will finally open its vault and launch a Special Collector’s Edition of music, video, interview and promotional material entitled The Chronic Re Lit & From The Vault. WIDEawake Death Row Records is giving the fans – unreleased songs from the Death Row vault to celebrate the phenomena of West Coast Rap and honor one of the most influential producers of our time – Dr. Dre.
Paying tribute to a fallen musician is always so tricky but the Toronto Love Jay shirts capture the city’s love for J Dilla beautifully. I def need to cop one of these! The shirts have been recently re-released thanks to IRIS’ 2-year anniversary. J Dilla R.I.P. More pics after the jump!

This is totally unheard of and an amazing accomplishment for Drake, Boi-1da and the whole team. This is THE most important singles chart in the world and to make it into the top 100 (let alone to #2) off an independently released mixtape track is completely ridiculous and needs to be celebrated. Whether you’re a fan of Drake or not, these guys are changing the game right before your eyes.
“I’m Still Fly” by Page feat. Drake and produced by Boi-1da is now available to be voted on for the 106 & Park countdown! Congrats to the whole team for getting it this far. Here’s the link to vote:
