Great use of the now infamous footage from the G20 weekend here in T.O. last year. C.B.B. stands for Connected By Blood. Directed and edited by Next Level Productions.
Sucks that I feel the need to justify this post but damn Soulja Boy is horrible. Tory‘s doing his thing though and the point of this site is to showcase and support local artists that are making moves…Sometimes we get to post stuff we really love and sometimes, well…a Soulja Boy song. lol.

LOFT Music The True Sun of Man – By Jeffery “Vargas” Vellejo
On December 11th 2010, the L.O.F.T. Sound Studio released its annual compilation of music composed by emerging artists from the Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre (CONC). The compilation CD represented the collaboration of 15 artists – a mixture of producers, engineers, emcees and vocalists – coming together in the spirit of the LOFT Youth Program: to provide opportunities for marginalized youth in Toronto to pursue their passion as a career.
The LOFT, which stands for Life Opportunities, Food and Technology, is also home to Under the Radar (UTR), a clothing and design social enterprise also run by young artists. For more info about UTR, please visit undertheradarto.com.
Among the artist on the album was Jeffery “Vargas” Vellejo who debuted his “ The True Sun of Man” music video. The True Sun of Man by Vargas is a phenomenal song off the LOFT Music Vol 4 compilation. After uploading the video on youtube it grossed almost 1500 views in a matter of weeks. The song is written and produced by the very talented Vargas. The video is directed by emerging cinematographer/painter Danilo McDowell-McCallum.
Perhaps the most exciting aspect about the video is the opportunity to create awareness about the LOFT Youth Centre for Social Enterprise and Innovation – a new youth hub that the LOFT is in the process of establishing right beside CONC. Located at 850 Bloor St West, this dynamic space will house three youth-led social enterprises, including UTR and the Sound Studio.
For more information the regarding The LOFT Sound Studio and Compilation Release Party, please contact Jonathon or Jeffrey at 416 534 8941 x 22, or jonathon@conc.ca. For info about UTR visual artists or the LOFT and CONC, please contact Logan or Javid at 416 534-8941 x 28 or javid@conc.ca.
