The Godfather Wes “Maestro” Williams took part in a very dope speaker series during the Manifesto Festival. It was a great event that featured host Garvia Bailey and other speakers that included Ernie Panniccioli, Lillian Allen, Ivan Evidente, Nayani Thiyagarajah, Dalton Higgins, Weyni Mengesha & Buddha.
One of the pioneers in this whole Canadian hip-hop thing (think Rascalz, k-os, K’naan etc…), Sol-Guy, does his thing at TEDxToronto. In the presentation, Sol talks about harnessing the power of art in hopes to create bigger change in the world.
TEDxToronto is the largest TEDx conference for Toronto, Canada.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, it brings together the city’s foremost thought leaders, change makers and everyday people from each discipline and challenges them to deliver powerful, unforgettable and unique TEDxTalks.
The theme of the second annual conference was A Call to Action. A total of 300 spots were reserved for audience members, while thousands more across the country joined via satellite locations and live video stream.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

Shouts to @ideal34 who sent us this tweet on some “I knoooooow you’re gonna love this” lol. I think now that Chris Stylez has some momentum he should re-release this song like proper though. Lost? “High On Love” came out a few years ago on some un-mixed, straight out the studio, leak-type ish (shouts to 2Rude!) and although we showed it love on OTA Live where we could (this was pre Megacity Countdown days) it definitely never got the push it deserved. Anyways….yes Josie, thanks for the link. lol.
Get caught up with Chris Stylez below. Lord knows you been sleeping long enough…and vote for dude on 106 & the MCC!
This is “Hard to Forget” featuring Kayo. Both artists lay down tight verses and the Hansen-Macdonald Brothers directed visuals compliment the music nicely. The track appears on The Jason LP which is available now on iTunes. Check out the video after the jump.
