SFA was on location at the opening event for this year’s Manifesto festival! Congrats once again to the whole Manifesto family for putting together Canada’s biggest hip-hop festival. Video features Manifesto founder Che Kothari, Governer General Michaelle Jean and the Godfather, Maestro Fresh-Wes. Via HHC!
If you haven’t caught any of the events thus far…don’t fret. Lots going on this weekend including T.O. Meet N.Y. (that Ty and I are hosting) tonight at The Great Hall. Peep the Manifesto website for all the details about this weekend’s activities!

In what’s basically a bunch of MTV interviews spliced together, Drizzy talks about his latest tour (Light, Dreams & Nightmares); the influences that inspired the stage set; his current residential status; the status of the “Fancy” video and more.
SIDEBAR:
Got nothing but love for Sway but asking Drizzy about ‘Pac’s passing (his feelings on it at the time and where he was when it happened) is like asking me where I was when Marvin Gaye died.
C’mon dude, in ’96 the kid was like 9 (smh). I think journalists need to wake up to the reality that hip-hop is over 30 years old now; so the idea that there’s universality in what every hip-hop fan can intimately relate to with respect to the highs and lows of the genre’s history just isn’t true anymore (as illustrated on “Fear”).

Got some new videos to post from director Marc Andre Debruyne. Here’s the first from Mic Boogie (featuring Mark Holmes from ’80’s super-famous rock band Platinum Blonde). Hook was re-sung (no samples) and the track is off Mic Boogie’s Mr. Boogie project which is dropping this fall.
