Via Boss Lady. Some good insight here behind the scenes of Rocawear’s latest ad campaign featuring Melanie Fiona (and some guy named Trey Songz).
During the MAGIC fashion show last month, I grabbed Jameel Spencer (Chief Marketing Officer for Rocawear) to get the scoop on the brand’s sexy new Fall/Winter campaign starring Trey Songz and Melanie Fiona.
Jameel reflects on the difficulty of finding a new male ambassador because Jay-Z is so “known and synonymous with the brand” and divulges how Trey’s involvement with Rocawear now extends further than a simple paid endorsement. He touches on Rocawear’s current concept of spotlighting “who’s next” after celebrating a successful 10-year run at the top of the urban apparel space, and the unique “day in the life” approach the team took to this particular shoot.
Trey and Melanie are scheduled to feature in the brand’s Spring/Summer 2011 campaign also, which will again be shot by Anthony Mandler (the director of many Jay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West videos).
