In 2010 Anthony “Durty Keyz” James from production duo Burd & Keyz passed away suddenly from a bacterial infection called Streptococcus. He was 23 years old. Before he passed, he had started a project called Keyz of Life. In his honour his production partner Andrew “Burd” Liburd decided to finish the project. Featuring artists like Luu Breeze, Nickelus F, JD Era, SonReal, Blake Carrington, Shi Wisdom, A-Game, OmarLunan aka Oh!, Promise, Redway, Rich Kidd, Rochester, Divine Brown, Kardinal Offishall and more, Keyz of Life not only pays homage to Keyz but also to his flourishing home city of Toronto. Harvey Stripes has exposed many sides of his moniker — from the slick speaking Mr. Talk To Em personality to the for-the-ladies charmer. But he’s shied away from more vulnerable facets of himself — until now. For his latest video, Harvey releases “Letting Go”, produced by Pro Logic and featuring vocals by Freedom 2 Worship Choir.
With the song addressing a lost love, a murdered friend and a partner Harvey used to rap with, director Sharpshooter chose a down-to-earth atmosphere — minus the flash we’re used to from the rapper. The performance video also features visual effects by Veno of Inc Multimedia.
