Cipher that broke out out side of the lounge spot, featuring a bunch of toronto artists including Roshin, Spek Won, Lord Quest, Rich Kidd, EriK Flowchild and more!!!
Simply put: Just another crazy cypher on another crazy night in the Mega
Drake’s best live performance of 2009. It was the last night of his headlining tour in the spring before the knee injury that sidelined him. The date was May 23rd and the place was the Luckman Fine Arts Complex in LA. Tyga, Big Sean and Terry Kennedy even came out during Every Girl to get in on the party. Here are the highlights of the night in HD quality. www.theQside.com
Via HHC! So apparently this came out in March. Crazy thing is we saw Alex Dimez in August at his CNE performance when he opened for Kardi but he never mentioned having a viral video out. Anyways, Dimez is a new artist out of the city and if I’m not mistaken this is his first video. Directed by Bonxx of Ryder Vision Films.
If Drake is not a household name for everyone just yet, the 23-year-old is on the front porch, ringing the bell. That he’s done it without even putting out an official album shows just how far he’s come in 12 months. What a journey it’s been for the Toronto native in 2009.
I first met Drake last year in Los Angeles around Grammy time. Lil Wayne’s co-manager Cortez Bryant introduced me to Drake as a new “singer” that they were working with. Drizzy was cool but barely spoke: At the time, there was no way I’d envision him as having a shot at making the MTV News’ “Hottest MCs in the Game” list, let alone finishing in the top three. He was a “singer,” right?
Everyone — including Drake — is probably surprised at how much he’s achieved this year. On the basis of its quality and impact, Mixtape Daily can say that So Far Gone isn’t just the top mixtape of 2009, but one of the greatest of all time. As a body of work, the project is better than most albums from the past few years.
After the talk at the release party (which I missed) this video has been highly anticipated to say the least. Boothe’s on fire right now (thanks also to his Puffy bio) and this def doesn’t disappoint. P.s. Got my limo parked outside lol!

This is admittedly not my favorite type of track BUT Cindy is a Toronto native who signed to the mighty Interscope Records (earlier this year I believe). An accomplishment like that definitely certifies an official Cityonmyback post! This video came out earlier this year too but I literally just came across it the other day. What happens with the project still remains to be seen but definitely keep an eye out for Cindy Gomez! I met her a few times too…years back…mad cool girl so it’s great to see her doing big things!
