Shouts to my dude D.O. man. Gotta love the international hustle.
You may or may not be a fan of his music but that’s not the point right now. The point is to watch what he’s doing as an independent artist AND entrepreneur in Canada and try to implement some of those attributes into what you’re doing. I can actually say that D.O. is one of the few completely indy Canadian hip-hop artists that actually LIVES off music. I mean, supports his family and has no other job and doesn’t do anything illegal (lol). He’s def doing something right so if you’re trying to figure things out he’s def a great person to talk to. Anyways…the EPK helps break things down.

Ian Kamau in conversation with Bob Marley’s granddaughter?! I’m down.
This Friday, August 5th (in Toronto) I am organizing an informal Gathering on youth and spirituality with Rita & Bob Marley’s granddaughter, Donisha Prendergast. This session is connected to a film called RasTa coming out this September; the session on Friday is called RasTa Sessions: Reasoning On Youth and Spirituality, it is a FREE and informal conversation in Alexandra Park in partnership with Scadding Court Community Centre (where I worked for years in my teens and early twenties). The session will explore tradition, spirituality, culture and knowledge and give young people the opportunity to speak with Donisha about their own spirituality, ask questions and contribute to the conversation. You can find more information about the film at www.rastaonline.ca
Aug 5 | 6pm in Alexandra Park (PO)
South of Scadding Court Community Centre

Umm…this is pretty random lol. If you ever wondered what you would get if you mixed TO + NY + Greg Nice + the ’70’s…now you know.
The checkered taxi cab and dashiki may pay homage to the throwback vibe of the Sheen Bros’ “It’s So Hot,” but directors The ICU keep this party clip fresh and focused. This red hot blast of disco rap from 4th Pyramid, Cosmo Baker and special guest Greg Nice stays lit from dusk ’til dawn. You’re going to need to keep those shades on, y’all.
