Vocoder MURKS Autotune any day of the week. Too sick. No pun intended.
I was up mighty late messing with some electric guitar sounds in search of the most authentic one. During this process, I kept hearing reverb’d bells in my head. lol So I laid them down and built my drums around those ideas.
Now that my soul was lost somewhere in 1986, I decided to add a bit of Vocoder to give it that throwback feel. Had a lot of fun with this one. Enjoy!
Between this and the Era, I’m so good for today. Happy Thursday! Ritchie and Tona need to do a project together. Just saying. Silverspring Crescent coming soon…
Yo Tona, can we get a DL link???
DIRECTED BY MATT BEECRAFT – Fresh off the “WE DO” release a few weeks ago, I decided to hit you with some more promotional material. In this video, I’m gonna take you into what a typical studio session looks like when we build a track from scratch. We all know what happens when you mix liquor together; it becomes more lethal. Well, this is what happens when you mix some HENNESSY + SMOKE + RICH KIDD PRODUCTION + SOME HARD RHYMES courtesy of TONA together.

Saidah Baba Talibah drops some out-of-this-world type visuals for the title track off her upcoming album out August 2nd!
Satisfying and soulful. Raw and raunchy. Inspiring, tantalizing and scandalous. Dripping with sensuality. Toronto rock soul songtress Saidah Baba Talibah’s – who’s been described as Living Color-meets-Erykah Badu – debut LP is more than just an album: it’s an experience. The suggestive, choose-your-own-adventure parentheses around the ‘S’ in the album’s title are indicative not only of the album’s lyrical content, but of Saidah as an artist and as a person.
In Saidah’s own words, “(S)Cream is a collection of dreams, daydreams and realities, that speak from a place of fierceness, vulnerability, insecurity and assuredness. (S)Cream has put away all childish games and is all grown up, but is still searching and getting comfortable in all of her cracks and bulges, turn ons and turn offs. This is my coming out as a woman who likes to talk sex & sensuality, broken-heartedness, not taking anymore shit-ed-ness. I growl. I purr. I go to pretty places, harder places and naked places. I wish you joy, despair, heartbreak, inspiration and to be turned on.”
On July 29, Saidah returns to the mainstage in Toronto, as she competes for $10,000 in the Harbourfront SoundClash. The winner will be determined by a combination of jury selections and public votes, so put your vote in for Saidah today.
