This is a lil’ late but I actually haven’t seen a lot of footage from Stylus Weekend other than this (and it just came out). Anyways…Stylus Weekend was amazing once again. Big shouts to SFA for putting this lil’ clip together from the conference we hosted. Oh, and big shouts to Toronto’s Suge Knight LOL!!!

Yes, I know this is ‘old’ (it’s almost a year to the day it was first posted on youtube) but it’s a great interview that not everyone’s seen. Pharrell’s reaction to the records Nardwuar pulls out is priceless! Makes me believe he’d probably enjoy being on OTA Talk.
There is nothing sweeter than the gut wrenching, soul shaking sound of Toronto’s female artists. In fact the only thing that IS sweeter is seeing them, hearing them and feeling them all on one night, at this years Honey Jam taking place Sunday, August 16th at the Mod Club. (more…)

We’ve connected on several ventures from promoting concerts for Joe Budden to Wu Tang to my Hip Hop Ain’t Dead It Lives In The North T-shirts to the coming Busta Rhymes Tour which we’ll both be on (he’ll be rapping, I’ll be selling merchandise).

Contra Mag had the privilege of hanging out with Melanie Fiona while she was in her home town of Toronto for a few days before heading out to Europe for the launch of her album (in stores in Canada NOW!!!). The afternoon began at Rolly’s Garage, taking in some art, where she talks about her relationship with ?uestLove, her new album – The Bridge, and Toronto. Then it was off to Greg’s Ice Cream on Bloor Street for some delicious cold treats and over to Coal for some custom designs courtesy of Brazen Hussy.
