New trailer for MTL’s Lotus & Troy Dunnit’s upcoming single “Fly With Me”

(shouts to Mr. Ken St. Leger!)

Their first single “Nu Flava” definitely has me interested  in what The Anti-Cupid Ep will sound like.

Oh, and the Nu Flava video just got added to Much Music rotation, if you haven’t seen it yet:

Peep!

Request it if you like it; vote it onto The MCC too!

Corey Niles – Ready To Fly feat. Rochester

hyperadmin | Music | Sunday, August 2nd, 2009

First time hearing about this guy. This is reeeeeal commercial but I’m sure the ladies’ll like it. FB write-up and download below:

Ok everyone, this has been long awaited. We got my man Corey Niles, he has just released his first MAJOR banger from his upcoming Mixtape, LADIES CHOICE. This track is called “Ready To Fly” featuring one of Toronto’s best, Rochester himself.

To give you guys a little look in to who is Mr. Corey Niles – if you don’t know him already: He has been known and seen for his skill as a ball player. He was titled Toronto’s best dunker more than once, and played for teams all over the world. But, he has since left the ball on the court to let others get their shine, as he begins another journey into the industry. He is now “jumping” on any track thrown his way, because he believes that there is no beat out there that he couldn’t destroy. On this track he is not only rapping, but he is also singing that dope chorus. So yes ladies, you have your choice of a little rap or a little soulful singing whenever you meet him, hence the name of his upcoming Mixtape – Ladies Choice.

There will soon be a REMIX for this track so keep posted, it will have one of the youngest but greatest artists on it, and possibly one of the veterans on that remix ( if you know your Toronto music, you will figure it out). Make sure to keep checking back!

Drake Statement after re-injuring his leg

hyperadmin | News | Sunday, August 2nd, 2009

Straight from OVO:

This bottle of Opus One is low but my spirits are high my friends. I am about 2 hours away from Toronto, CA where I will be spending the next chunk of time recovering from a surgery that I now must have. I embarked on this tour with a torn ACL, MCL, and LCL and due to the events that happened the other night lord only knows what other damage I have done. On the bright side I will begin the reflecting and soul searching that its going to take to make this album and my outfit on the night I fell was crack. I will forever push myself beyond the limits despite advice and recommendations given because even with this new found success I am still the kid who wanted this more than anything in the world. Its funny when I read comments from previous fans who have lost interest because of the radio play and exposure I have. I just want to assure anyone reading that nothing has changed on my end. I refuse to get comfortable, I refuse to fall in line and follow anyone elses formulas. I still work as if So Far Gone had never dropped and I’m still trying to figure out how I’m going to gain entry to this game.

“Missing someone gets easier everyday. Because, even though it is one day further from the last time you saw each other, it is one day closer to the next time you will”

See you soon.

Hopefully her 18th b-day party won’t be on a Thursday so the OTA fam can come through!!!

Check out hustleGRL here!

From the GRL herself:

As we & the whole world know, I celebrated my 17th birthday on July 9th at CiRCA Toronto with Day26 and guests Drake, Trey Songz, Andreena Mill, and Lokz. During that day, I had a little camera crew following me around & documenting me getting ready for the big day. It’s like an MTV My Super Sweet 16…minus MTV lmao. Hopefully they want to pick me up for next year. Anyways, the video is about 17 minutes long and it pretty much sums up what happened that day/night. Big shouts to CreAction Media for covering, editing, following me around, watching me spazz (but editing it out the footage); you guys are the best! I know you enjoyed watching Day26’s shirtless, sweaty bodies, owww. Okay, I’ll stop :]. Check out the video & feel free to blog it wherever you like.

Baatin 1

Every group has that one unique individual that seems to stand apart from the rest and is referenced by fans as the soul and spirit of the collective.

Baatin was that dude.

No official word on the circumstances that lead to his tragic passing but our prayers are with his family and loved ones.

Drake Collapses on stage

hyperadmin | News | Saturday, August 1st, 2009

Don’t really know what to say here other than we hope he’s alright. No official word on anything yet but here’s some insight from Miss Info:

My girl Marisa is backstage tonite at the “America’s Most Wanted” show in Camden, New Jersey and just filled me in on the worst-case scenario that just happened onstage : (

According to her and other witnesses, Drake and Lil Wayne were performing “Best I Ever Had” when Drake was moving across the stage and did a spin move…he must have turned his already-injured knee while spinning, because Drake suddenly collapsed on the stage. “He put his head down because he was in so much pain,” and then 4 guys ran out on the stage and had to carry him off. Lil Wayne was left onstage in a state of confusion.

Sources say that Weezy then said to the stunned crowd, “Damn, I knew that n—a’s knee was bad, but I didn’t know it was that bad! I thought he was just in a wheelchair on T.V.” [really?!]

Then Wayne had to keep the show going, so he performed “Mrs. Officer,” with Shanell and T. Streets (normally, Drake performs the song with Wayne.), and then “Every Girl In the World,” again, sans Drake.

Meanwhile, backstage, paramedics cordoned off a section and were examining the injured star.

Now if you recall, just last week, Drake told MTV about his risky decision to still hit the stage on the America’s Most Wanted tour (even with a reduced role), despite warnings from his doctors….

I didn’t really get any approval from my doctor, but I made a personal decision 48 hours ago that I’d be letting a lot of people down if I didn’t show up and at least show them I’m there for them…”
“I’m not doing my own set. That’s one thing I have to apologize to my fans about. It’s too much of a risk, if I hit that wrong turn [doing] 30 minutes every night. If I tear my ACL again, the doctors say I might not be able to walk again. I have to be cautious.”
