From New Industry North’s youtube channel via HHC!

The 10th installment of The Beat Lounge took place last Saturday night with beats from a variety of homegrown producers including Rich Kidd, Big Popps, Gigz and an exclusive world premier from Tone Mason of a brand new Saukrates track (at the 3:10 mark)!

I’m assuming this is the song Melly keeps talking about. Geez, can’t wait for this Saukrates album to drop (rubs hands together greedily).

SHIRTS GROUPTT

By Jonathon “Bizz” Brown

Another city, another day, another playing field to navigate – this time in Saskatoon. After checking in we hit sound check while Peter Jackson got his first opportunity to build with Spliffstar. Busta has been all business this tour and hasn’t really engaged with anyone outside his camp, but Spliffstar has made himself totally accessible since Saskatoon when he got to know us. At sound check I wrestled with the logistics to secure the best available positioning for our merchandise table. Once settled, sound checked and satisfied we feasted at The Freehouse and “got fat while they starved.” Chicken sandwich with Mango salsa in Saskatoon? Who knew.

We were picked up upon arrival back at the hotel. I have to admit, seeing a black and red Expedition with FMF on the side made me consider the likelihood of Funk Master Flex actually somehow being in Saskatoon to visit Busta or something. But then I figured out it was our ride, noticed the truck wasn’t clean and remembered I WAS IN SASKATOON. So forging on past my delusional lapse, I stepped in the club and struck a deal with one of the dozen sexy waitresses… (more…)

Busta Rhymes – Live at Phoenix Concert Hall (FOOTAGE)

hyperadmin | Video | Friday, August 21st, 2009

Oh my gaaaaaaaawd Busta is the greatest lol! Looks like T.O. definitely repped at the show and seeing the footage is making me kick myself for missing this. The beginning is hype (“Ante Up”) but “Scenario” and the Spliff/Busta chemistry in “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See” are why these guys are legends. Seen at TRF courtesy of TOFLO.com!

Birdman – Money To Blow feat. Drake & Lil' Wayne

hyperadmin | Music | Friday, August 21st, 2009

From Nahright.com:

Okay, so if my count is correct, this is the second time in 24 hours that an old man has strong armed taken a dated Drake song for his album. The first time was when DJ Enuff played Drake’s “The Winner,” produced by Tha Bizness, and said that DJ Kay Slay took it for his album. Double deja vu, since Drake’s original “Money To Blow” was one of his most infectious songs for a minute before you ever heard of him on this site. Sorry to burst anyone’s bubble, but either way… DJ Kay Slay and Baby both got themselves Drake on their album and Drake can go back to finishing his own fucking album.

Birdman feat. Drake & Lil Wayne – Money To Blow (prod. Drumma Boy)

Fun fact: Drake’s verse is the same that Lil Wayne was spitting at the VMAs last year [watch here at the 0:35 mark.] I’ll let you tell it… “we gon be okay if we put Drake on every hook!”
