Kardinal Offishall In Dubai & Abu Dhabi (VIDEO)

hyperadmin | Video | Friday, August 21st, 2009

I hate when people say Kardi flopped with his album. Kardi didn’t flop. He sold what any rapper with a longtime underground following would sell (see Slaughterhouse record sales). Difference is that he thankfully also had that one magical hit that allows him to do things like in the video above. No, “Dangerous” didn’t help sell his album more but that’s more a comment on today’s music climate. He still sold over a million of the single so again…Kardi flopping = NOPE.

Kardinal Offishall in Dubai & Abu Dhabi. He performs live and gets a tour of the cities and the desert!

Song: ‘CLEAR!’ off the upcoming album…

blog

By Jonathon “Bizz” Brown

For those of you who aren’t in the loop, I’m currently touring with Peter Jackson, 9-0 Nickel, Belly, Busta Rhymes and Spliffstar writing, sponsoring and building my brand of t-shirts across Canada. I’ve been traveling in an incredibly courageous Ford Windstar with five other grown men a few hundred mixtapes, 200 t-shirts plus luggage. Needless to say it has been anything but luxurious. But that’s ok, I came to grind, not lounge and that’s exactly what I told Peter Jackson three months ago when we started discussing this opportunity. This is his third tour across Canada this year so he knew the lay of the land, the temptations, the distractions and the tests that are inherent in a journey like this.

We left on Sunday August 9th and drove twenty two hours to Winnipeg, where we spent the afternoon before taking off to Calgary overnight. After a few days cooped up we got a chance to get out and ended up at a club sharing a booth with NHL goalie Ray Emery. Next day was the first show, next day was a drive and the Edmonton show, the next day was a drive and lil ol’ Regina. The Drink – a small bar, opposite train tracks and a trucker yard, with a punch-your-lights-out arcade game and a sound guy with a bad attitude. Sounds like a recipe for another grind-or-go-home night for Bizz doesn’t it?

From Eternia’s Youtube Channel:

“Jessica recently performed alongside guitarist Martin @ the Kamshuka Gallery Show in Toronto, a benefit for the Canadian Cancer Society. Jessica sang buttery-smooth renditions of Nina Simone, Stevie Wonder, Ella Fitzgerald, and her own exclusive material.”

Check Jessica Kaya performing tonight @ Harlem with Dj Mel Boogie!

(Shouts to Junia-T on the outro cameo, lol!)

Statement from Drake – Unlearn

hyperadmin | News | Thursday, August 20th, 2009

From OVO.

People often ask me the craziest part about becoming “famous” and I’ve never had an answer until yesterday.

“You’ll spend half of your time defending yourself and the other half trying to stay sane resulting in you being forced to find time to be creative”

I often wonder in a time where new artists exist in a impersonal cyber world of instantaneous information, if we will ever have another rap legend that can manage to maintain the image that our idols had prior to this method of promotion. I am not suggesting that this person should be me, I am just urging a generation to understand that in order to have anyone of any significance in our lives that we can look up to there will be things that we must look past. There are people that buy sell and trade evil on a daily basis…when u believe in their brand is when they win.

“Even photoshop couldn’t change me”
– Me

I also want fans to know that I am only releasing this EP so that everyone involved in the project can hold a physical copy of the CD in their hands and see it in the store. And for anybody else who feels that So Far Gone marked a moment in time I just wanted to give you the option to have the disc. If you got it for free and want to keep it that way than by all means I urge you too. That was a gift from me to you…Thank Me Later.
