Now with 30-plus editions under its belt, Toronto’s Hip Hop Karaoke has long affirmed itself as a legitimate staple in the city’s urban nightscape, giving would-be stage-stalking MCs a chance to live out their wildest mic-wielding dreams with safe backing of their favorite instrumental and a handy lyric sheet. The fact that the night’s participants have access to actual instrumentals and not just canned backing tracks places HHK a step above most karaoke nights, and when combined with a completely unpretentious and inviting environment – something apparently locked up in coat check at most hip hop events – solidifies much of its appeal.
Brand new heat from Bigg Soxx!!! I remember them passing us this song on the low months ago (shouts to Boogeyman who’s been playing it in The Burn for a while now) but I don’t remember there being talk of a video. Nice surprise! Sauks never disappoints. Seen at The Freqs spot via HHC.
Shouts to Thenewsauga.com for the heads up on this. This is a re-working of The Alchemist’s’ “Tick Tock” feat. Nas & Prodigy and is off Tek’s I Did It My Way (The G-Mix Collection) mixtape. Featuring Scarborough’s own Richie Sosa!

9THUNO is a force to be reckoned with on an international level. 9TH brings traditional fundamentals of lyricism with a new school swagger over the illest of beat production. 9th has performed with KRS-1, GZA, Boot Camp Click, Marco Polo, ILL Bill, Mr. Lif, Cage, Camu Tao, Jedi Mind Tricks, Saukrates, Daetona, BrassMunk, The Beatnuts, D.I.T.C. and Redman/Method Man. Subliminal has been putting it down in the city for years now! Album features Hezekiah, Rah Digga and more! Peep the promo vid and find the album on iTunes etc if you’re feeling it!
Some brand new music from a brand new artist. Never heard of dude but he hit me up on FB and the track was sounding nice (shouts to Rich Kidd on the beat). Artwork is sick too!
