The tag line for last Saturday’s low-end movement at The Drake Underground could have been “He’s the DJ, I’m the rapper, and this is my band”, as two crews with similar designs for their disparate hip hop expressions teamed up for a tight little showcase in the cozy bowels of the landmark Queen west hotspot.
New joint from a new artist named Nikkie Santoro. She’s been doing her thing for a minute on the socialite tip (between here and ATL) and though I’ve heard whispers of her being an MC, this is the actual first song I’ve heard from her. Shouts to Breezy on the feature. An excuse to post a pic of Miss Santoro = win-win situation.
These kids got SKILLZ!! Catch the oh so soulful and spoken word poweress, Sun aka the realSUN and some seriously talented youth from the Jane strip as they hold it down with T.Dot heavy hitters and community instigators Saidah Baba Talibah, Rich Kidd, DJ L’Oquence. Tomorrow, 52 McCaul: 3:30-6:30 and oh yes, rice and peas will be in full effect at this catered and family friendly event.
Dropped the MP3 last week (below) now here’s the entire DJ Pack in WAV + MP3 formats straight from Melle’s ethernet cable. Shouts to Tone Mason on production! DJ Pack includes instrumental and all that good stuff! This is officially the 1st single from SAUKRATES: SEASON ONE!

I know I’m late jumping on the youtube bandwagon, but I wanted to share a little project of mine. Dedicated to all the lovers and haters of Lady Gaga, this is my OMA (one-man-acapella – or should I say OWA) of a medley of her songs. I’m singing all the parts (including my version of a “beat box” which I had learned to do just 5min prior to recording!). Thanks for watching!
Special thanks to Del Soul (aka Daiyel) of Legaci and XCON of LateNightShooters. Del really was the brains behind the song and XCON put the vids together beautifully. Check out their channels and show some love!
Naya is someone I consider to be a travelling spirit. Mad cool, always exploring the world and always smiling.
This vid’s a great example of who she is. You might remember her as one of the contestants for The Best Job In The World (I honestly thought she was gonna win that).

Marco Polo & Ruste Juxx Set The eXXecution
Album In Stores March 23rd, 2010 on Duck Down Records
Album Is Entirely Produced By Marco Polo and Features Appearances From Sean Price, Black Moon (Buckshot, 5FT & DJ Evil Dee), Rock of Heltah Skeltah, Freddie Foxxx & DJ Revolution
Marco Polo & Ruste Juxx have combined forces to bring fans a serious dose of hardcore Hip Hop. The eXXecution is entirely produced by Marco Polo with Ruste Juxx providing gut-wrenching vocals over heavy hitting drums.
Marco Polo explains that a “simple studio session to play beats turned into Ruste Juxx recording 9 songs. The joints came out so crazy that we said let’s turn this into a full-length album. Working with Duck Down all these years it was only a matter of time before Juxx and I got to a specific project. The best part is the work happened organically. Nothing was forced. Ruste came through, heard beats, wrote, recorded…done deal. March 23rd is The eXXecution!”
