FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – THURSDAY MARCH 11, 2010

SPOKEN WORD ARTIST, DWAYNE MORGAN, SIGNS 3 BOOK PUBLISHING DEAL
Toronto, March 11, 2010 – Dwayne Morgan is a household name on the North American Spoken Word Scene. This will be solidified further with next weeks release of Cunnilinguistics: The Sensual Musings of Dwayne Morgan. Cunnilinguistics is the first of three books of Morgan’s sensual poetry to be published through a deal with Montreal’s Adage edition.
Adage edition co-published Morgan’s first French translation ‘Le Making of d’un homme’ in 2009, with Maelstrom reEvolution in Brussels, Belgium. With the success of that release, and Morgan’s popularity steadily on the rise, Adage proposed continuing their relationship.
“This is really good for me right now”, says Morgan. “I do a lot of work with young people, but also a lot of performances for more mature audiences. It’s great to be able to put my sensual material in its own book, so I can keep that out of the books that the youth access”.
Cunnilinguistics will be released this Sunday, March 14th in Montreal, then at Members Only, at the Toronto Centre for the Arts, on Thursday, March 18th, presented by Champagne and Strawberries Ent (www.champagneandstrawberries.ca). There will also be a number of other promotional events for the book including Sexy Sushi at Yorkville’s new hot spot, the KOKO! Share Bar.

Barack Obama’s inauguration as President of the United States easily goes down as one of the biggest/most important events in modern history. Headed by the fam over at 1LoveTO.com, 3 bus loads of Torontonians headed down to D.C. for the event and documented their journey along the way. Now just over a year after the event, they proudly present the documentary “T.O. to D.C. – The Journey To Barack Obama’s Inauguration”. There’s a free screening coming up on March 17th – all info is below!

1 LOVE T.O. Proudly Presents…

On Wednesday March 17th, 2010 at 7p we will be premiering the 1loveto.com documentary “T.O. to D.C. – The Journey To Barack Obama’s Inauguration.” at the Isabelle Bader Theatre (93 Charles Street). Please RSVP to getonthebus@live.com.

P U R P O S E !

Our purpose was to provide an opportunity to be a part of history. We have re-lived history through songs and stories but this time we had a chance to live it out. We also felt it important that Toronto had a presence on this historic day. We believe that this day wasn’t simply a great day for Black history or just American history but more so a significant day for all of us in World history.

On this trip there were 168 people ranging in age from 11-63yrs. A representation of all races and religions all residing in what we call ‘The World In 1 City’ our home 1 Love T.O.

Directed by Chris Strikes.
