Via TRF! 1da chops it up with The Source about Drizzy’s new joint!
After the success of “Best I Ever Had,” and “Forever,” it only makes sense for Drizzy Drake to hit up his go-to producer in order to craft the artist’s most important single of the young star’s career for Thank Me Later. The Source caught up with Boi-1da to talk about how the song came about and the producers’ feelings on the early feedback of “Over.”
Talk about how you went about creating the track “Over.”
Me and another producer by the name of Al-Khaaliq. He’s a dude that makes sample quality music that people think it’s a sample. Like “Over” sounds like a sample but it’s not a sample. I remember I was in L.A. in a meeting with Interscope and he sent it in my email. I put it in my headphones and I was like “Whoa, this is crazy I need to get on my laptop and get this working right now.” I went right to the studio and just flipped it, that night. Once I sent it to Drake, the rest was history.
