Roti has been in the Canadian urban music scene since 2006 and has worked relentlessly to solidify his name in the world of rap music. Since his debut he has secured radio play for 8 singles including spins on Toronto’s flow 93.5 and Western New Yorks WBLK, he has also had videos for his singles “Lets Get Away” ft Kim Davis and “Murdera” ft Sinister in rotation on Much Music.
With a strong fan base at home and internationally (UK, South Asia) Roti’s latest mix tape “The Quick Fix” has created a huge buzz in the music world with over 40,000 downloads in its first month of release. Now working on his debut album, Roti recently inked an international distribution deal with Fontana / Universal through Toronto label GCP Recording Corp and will be releasing new music and singles world wide on itunes and online retailers.
His latest single is called “Baby I Believe” (prod. by Skosha Muzik). The song tells the story of Roti convincing a girl that they are meant to be together and that he believes that there is no one else out there for him but her.
Untitled finally returns with a brand new joint. Their departure from releasing music (over the past year or so) was for good reason though, as they are now signed to Ludacris’ DTP record label so expect to start hearing a lot more from the Toronto-based trio. No download link yet for the song but in the meantime the stream is up on SoundCloud.
Myself, Ty and True Daley will be moderating/hosting this panel on Saturday afternoon. The panel is part of the T-Dot Pioneers series of events which are sheding light on a new website called NorthSideHipHop.ca. The site aims to document Toronto’s (and Canada’s) hip-hop history. Saturday’s event is free and is at the Toronto Free Gallery at 1277 Bloor Street West which is where you can also get a look at the T-Dot Pioneers hip-hop exhibit. See you there!
Montreal keeps coming with that dirtyness. This one’s off producer Dynasty aka Beeker’sWeapons Lab Ep. Track’s called “Bus Speed Boom Bap” and features Lotus on the verses.
For someone who doesn’t smoke, I really love songs about weed lol. This sh*t is on repeat. MP3 below if you missed it last week and here’s the full DJ Pack also (including clean, dirty and instrumental). Light ’em up ladies and gents. Oh, and if you’re somewhat confused as to why it’s called Pt. II…here’s the original joint by King Reign, Soxx, Tona and Rich Kidd if you missed it somehow.
After a successful campaign with their “Road To Release” viral videos and the “At Last We Got a Record Deal Jam” where they announced signing to the legendary Fat Beats label, Eternia & MoSS finally leak out a joint from their album At Last due out June 8th! Nice jump off joint featuring Joell Ortiz. Via 2DBz!
