Streamed this the other day, now here’s the MP3s as well as WAVs if you want ’em (clean and dirty versions).
Step right up ladies and gentlemen… and welcome to the crazy world of D-Sisive‘s Vaudeville.
D-Sisive is a one man music machine cruising to the hum of his own engine. After last year’s triumphant return to the hip-hop limelight with both his Polaris Prize nominated gem Let The Children Die, and his second classic full length of 2009, the acclaimed Jonestown, one would think the accomplished Toronto MC would be content to rest on his ever-expanding laurels. Not D-Sisive. The enigmatic one is back – and this time taking things to an entirely new level with the epic Vaudeville.
Nas & Damian Marley chop it up with HardKnockTV about how K’naan influenced the making of their album Distant Relatives and more. Under the hood, the duo talks with Angie Martinez about Drizzy’s “Find Your Love” video. Via 2DBz!
HardKnockTV caught up with Nas and Damian Marley to talk about how K’naan influenced the making of Distant Relatives, why they picked Nneka as the opening act of the tour and about Nas jumping on the remix to Heartbeat. The interview concludes with Nick Huff Barili asking Nas about his lyric on Ludacris’ I Do it for Hip Hop “(They say I’m so low key, I’m socially awkward”). After the credits Nick asks Nas about the possibility of him doing a hip hop/jazz album with his father.
In the never-ending saga that is this song’s Internet life, here is the latest version – almost the entire song but ripped off the radio. Maybe when the album comes out there will actually be a CDQ version (*rolls eyes*). Produced by Boi-1da! Via 2DBz.
Big Besque dropped the video for this last week, now here’s the MP3 and DJ Pack which includes the instrumental.
After a brief hiatus which included some globe-trotting, Toronto MC Arabesque is back with his new single, “Understand”. Telling the stories of 4 landed immigrants and their struggle to assimilate into America, the story is instantly relatable. Keep your ears open for his 3rd full length album release, Nuclear Ambition, dropping June 1st, 2010.
BigMouthsOnline gets a sneak peek behind the scenes of the video for JD Era‘s Stylus nominated single, “You Know This” from his Th1rt3en mixtape which is available now! Look for the video soon and catch Era live on OTA Live next Tuesday night as well as performing at the Stylus Nominee Party May 30th at MOD Club!
Via TOFLO! Damn, Ty’s gonna be pissed about this (lol!) especially considering that last night on OTA Live we were talking about how GREAT this song is and that there’s NOOO need for rappers to start hopping on it. Just let a great R&B song be a great R&B song, you know? I guess since it’s Drake and he wrote the whole song though, Ty will have to deal with it lol.
Shouts to Mila Martin, a high school student from Toronto that put together this documentary about music, the Internet and all that good stuff (done for a class at school if I’m not mistaken). Features interviews with Saukrates, Rochester, yours truly from OTA Live/Cityonmyback and more!
THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING. The sound could’ve been better at some parts. But for my first major documentary, given my circumstances. Ko and I did amazing. – Mila Martin
