Shouts to T-RexXx and the fam at RapCity for inviting me on last night! Was dope to share the couch with Kamau, Coco & Lowe and my nemesis Lola (lol). Can’t lie, doing live TV was def a different experience but it was a great one none the less.
Regarding judging the freestyle…it’s mad hard to hear in there (def don’t have the clarity that you guys hear on TV or in this YouTube clip). Watching this back I realize that I didn’t even hear Keegan‘s last “Cityonmyback” line because the crowd was so loud. That being said, watching the battle back now I would still go with Junia for this round! Dope battle though for sure…

LOST & FOUND: “THE INSTRUMENTAL MIXTAPE” (1997-1999)
This project was inspired by the short documentary project
TDK: Life On Record
When imported into itunes on your computer, you will notice that I wrote brief descriptions of what inspired that particular instrumental in the “comments” section. I hope you enjoy listening to hear how far I’ve come!!

Last Saturday (February 12th 2011) Mixtape Massacre, The Real Frequency Show & The Powermove Show – 3 of the city’s most influential radio shows in Toronto – came together for what most thought would be the last time hip-hop would ever be heard in the staple 1-4pm time slot on the 88.1 FM dial. As it turns out CKLN ended up being granted a stay on the CRTC decision to revoke their license but the moment is still historic for symbolizing 4 generations of Toronto hip-hop radio (The Godfather Ron Nelson, DJ Mastermind and many other important members of these eras also came by or called in) coming together for the first time in the time slot that birthed the first institutionalized expression of The Mega’s hip-hop consciousness.
Simply put : A great moment in Toronto hip-hop history.
Salute.
