NEW VIDEO: Frankie Payne feat. Fire Kid Steenie "Hard Headed" (Directed by Tess Francis)

hyperadmin | Audio,Music,Video | Saturday, August 20th, 2011

Directed by Tess Francis.

Freedom Writers member Frankie Payne brings it proper with Steenie on the hook.

Following the hugely successful solo release of “My Life” and Freedom Writer Collective releases “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” and” Arizona Bay”, along with the release of “No Regrets” (Kardinal Offical, Kim Davis, T.R.A.C.K.S ” Realfreqeuncy New North Album”) there is no question that Frankie Payne has been putting in work. In the midst of all this soulful feel good music, Frankie Payne staying true to his unpredictable nature has decided to take us back to the other side of the spectrum.
“Hard Headed” is an aggressive lyrical assault with an intensity that only Frankie Payne can deliver. With an outside of the box format coupled with intelligent word play and venomously truthful statements Frankie Payne lays down a not so subtle reminder of who he is, what he represents and what he is capable of. Featuring Fire Kid Steenie, Hard Headed blends home grown hip hop with a dance hall sound clash vibes. Over a clever, powerful and original arrangement produced by Nighthawks (Man a Dads, Get Ready, etc.) and co-produced by Big Sproxx (Freedom Writers). Hard Headed is guaranteed to be a breath of Fresh air.

NEW VIDEO: Raz Fresco – OG Raptor 7s

I swear, Jordan is a frikkin’ phenomenon man. How Js are still the freshest sh*t is crazy to me. The whole thing basically just speaks to how great the 90’s were (shouts to the LATE 80’s too lol). And I’m not saying that from an old-bitter-head point of view but more from a yo-no-one’s-surpassed-the-bar-set-in-the-90’s-yet point of view. Kanye might be the only one. Early 50 and Drizzy are candidates in their own ways too. Conversely, many 90’s artists definitely surpassed the bar set by their 80’s counterparts.

Anyways, I digress. Shouts to Fresco and the whole crew mang…

Nice!

Grammy-Award Winning Producers To Crown This Year’s

Battle of the Beat Makers Winner

Three Day Event Includes Beat Battle, Producer Conference, Film Screening, Beat Auction and More

TORONTO, ON – This year’s 2011 Battle of the Beat Makers event brings A-List producers 9th Wonder, Toronto’s own Boi-1da and T-Minus, and Recording Artist Stalley of Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group as guest judges to determine who will take this year’s coveted title of top beat maker.

This year’s expansion of the Beat Battle into a multi-tier three-day affair is guaranteed to be a must-attend event for all aspiring producers and music lovers alike. At the heart of this event is the Main Event where 32 finalists will compete live on stage battle-royale style for the Champion Trophy, winning over $10,000 in cash and prizes. It all goes down August 27, 2011 at 8 p.m. inside The Opera House, 735 Queen St. E. With comedian Trixx returning as this year’s host and rising hip-hop stars Stalley, Luu Breeze and Jack Flawless taking the stage, this is a show not to miss.

Known as a rites of passage for producers, Boi-1Da (Drake, Kardinal Offishall, Clipse, Eminem, etc.), T-Minus (Drake, Nicki Minaj, T.I.), Big PopsRic Notes,Gigz, Amsterdam-native Neenah and more have all competed in the battle and won in past years.  “This is a huge way of getting out there and exposing yourself on a production side,” says two-time Grammy-Award winner, Boi-1da. “This is how I first started out.”

The weekend will kick off with a Beatz-N-Rhymes Meet & Greet where the 32 finalists will be able to mix and mingle with industry elite and artists. That night, lottery-style, the first-round battle face-offs will also be determined. Next up is the interactive Pro Audio Conference, which will include a Keynote address from 9thWonder, interactive panels on everything from branding to licensing, a critique session where producers will have an opportunity to play a snippet of their work for past BBM winners and live demonstrations from FL Studios and Roland.  On the final day, a beat auction will provide select producers with the opportunity to auction their work to artists and companies seeking out production and Grammy-Award Winning 9th Wonder will be presenting his “The Wonder Year” documentary at a special debut screening.

Registration for the competition closes this Friday, August 20, 2011. Producers are encouraged to visit http://soundsupremacy.com/sse/?page_id=8 to register now.

About Battle of the Beat Makers (BBM)
Founded in 2005, it was created to assist Canadian music producers lacking a platform to showcase their talents in a live setting, as well as to provide networking and educational opportunities to ensure their growth and development in the global music industry.  BBM was birthed to be that national platform.  Since then, it has showcased over 200 producers in a live setting and attracted over 1500 producers across Canada and abroad seeking to get involved with the BBM movement.  Most notably, it is the forum responsible for discovering both 2X Grammy Award Winning and Multi-Platinum Selling Producer, Boi-1Da, as well as, Grammy Nominated and Platinum Selling Producer, T-Minus.
