Fresh off taking home “Artist Mixtape of the Year” at the 2011 Stylus Awards for We On Some Rich Kidd Shiiiit Volume 4: The Boiling Point, the “Original” Rich Kidd drops the music video for his second solo single entitled, “Don’t Sleep On Me”. Over the past year Ritchie has built upon his accolades, winning “2010 Best Urban Performer” at the Toronto Independent Music Awards and having produced “Listen” off Shad’s album “TSOL” which was named “Best Rap Recording of the Year” at the 2011 Juno Awards. Following Ritchie’s first single “Take It Slow” (which was also nominated for “Hip-Hop Single of the Year”) “Don’t Sleep On Me” serves as his message to listeners that haven’t taken notice yet: like lying on a bed of nails, Rich Kidd ain’t nothing to sleep on.

This one got a ‘soft’ release last year (and we played the hell of it on OTA Live!) but definitely glad it’s finally getting an official release. As a collective these dudes are ALL heavily slept on…. maybe they need a name?

88 Days Of Fortune is a grass roots,queer and straight identified, youth run , music and multi-media collective. With 21 collective members, we are based in Toronto, but have members branching out as far as Seattle and Japan. We have been hosting and performing to sold out, bi monthly party and performances through out the city of Toronto for the past 2 years. Spaces like; The AGO, Drake Underground, The Ossington, Trinity Bellwoods Park, The Gladstone Hotel, Cine Cycle, JangBang, Loft 404, The Annex Wreck Room…just to name a few.
June 11th, 2011 is our Two Year Anniversary Party & Performance on the Toronto Island – in collaboration with ArtScape Gibraltar Point. A celebration of independent music and arts appreciation.
