EVENT: Love Always, R&B (Thursday, February 10th)

hyperadmin | Events | Thursday, February 10th, 2011

LoveRnB

This looks like it’ll be a dope event (i.e. lots of girls). Hosted by my celebrity crush, Tika Simone. Between this and the Herc thing, looks like it’ll be another beautiful night in the Mega.

Sunny Diamonds noticed there was a lack of exposure for R&B artists in Toronto, such as a showcase to flaunt their talent. Together, the Diamond Factory Studios family, Nadine Hope and HighClass came up with the concept of ‘Love Always, R&B’, a showcase taking place on Thursday, February 10th 2011 for all the R&B lovers out there.

Performers will include R&B artists from around the city such as, Daniel Daley, Marcus Voyce, Joe Louis, Brian Notice, J Melody, Trish, Emerson Brooks, Natosh and many more, including a few from across Canada.

All hosted by: Tika Simone

* Thursday, February 10th
* Vola Nightclub on 214 Adelaide Street West
* 8:00pm to 12:00am

At the door everyone will be given a Group E Love CD hosted by DJ Starting from Scratch blended by Dj OhSo, with the help of Dukey Dukez, Sunny Diamonds himself, and put together by the one and only Nadine Hope. The mixtape features many of the performers for the evening. Every lady in a couple will also be given a rose, just in the spirit of Valentine’s Day. Door price will be $15/person or $25/couple.

Come out, support, and fall in Love with R&B all over again!

Who are the names, faces and tastemakers that make hip hop rock in Canada? Fred E. Fame and The 5th Artist Development Agency  set out to answer this question as they present Legends of the Fame: The Great Canadian Hip-Hop Card Collection sponsored by HipHopCanada.com. A modern version of the original sports trading card, this collection features relevant rappers, singers, producers and entrepreneurs alike, in one of the most unique marketing campaigns to ever hit Canadian indie music. The front of the cards features exclusive portraits, with a micro-bio, accomplishments and affiliations on the rear. Cards are sorted and wrapped in packages of five, complete with the tradi tional stick of gum and will launch on January 14th, at the official release party inside Suba Lounge, open to the public.

We invite you to the Official Industry Auction, January 11th (Andy’s Pool Hall – 489 College St.) With dozens of artists already in line to be branded with their own card, this event will facilitate artistic and business networking while introducing the initial wave of trading cards. DJ Law will be the first to receive a “signature” card, in commemoration of his years of contributions to music in Canada.
