“Locked” is the third music video from Dan-e-o’s “Dilla Pickles”album/mixtape. The video serves as the behind the scenes footage from the”Last Minute” short film, directed by Kev Major and edited by XCON of Late Night Shooters.
Congratulations to K’naan (Artist Of The Year AND Songwriter Of The Year); Drake (New Artist Of The Year; Rap Recording Of The Year – “So Far Gone”); Jacksoul (R&B Recording Of The Year – “Lonesome Highway”, RIP Haydain Neale); & Dubmatix (Reggae Recording Of The Year).
It’s pretty safe to say this years Juno Awards was a pretty big deal for urban music on so many levels.
Enjoy some of the highlights (more after the jump!).
Hope everyone flying from St. John’s (and anywhere in the world for that matter) gets to where they need to be safely!
Via ATF. A lil’ taste of a Drizzy joint that looks to be off Thank Me Later (June 15th).
So it turns out this song is no longer a Bun B record and is no longer titled “All Night Long.” In fact, this is Lil Wayne-featured “Miss Me” off Drizzy’s upcoming debut album Thank Me Later.
Former member of the group MVP (alongside Wio-K from the mighty Monolith), Botany Hill, drops his debut single “The Road” featuring Andrea Henry. Joint’s definitely on that throwback feel good vibe. Solid joint to get introduced (or re-introduced) to a “new” artist. Here’s a piece from his official bio. More after the jump!
Producer and rapper, Botany Hill is to hip-hop as Bobby Brown is to Whitney Houston. The love affair between the two has spanned decades, yet it has not been without its ups and downs, bitter breakups and turmoil. In 2008, however, the relationship has been rekindled between the veteran of Toronto, Canada’s hip-hop scene and the once sacred artform with an unapologetic vengeance.
Botany Hill and hip-hop practically grew up together as best friends. A fanatic of the early 90’s movement, Hill was most heavily influenced by the likes of KRS-One, Rakim, A Tribe Called Quest and Common. This fact was made evident in the relentless raps he would deliver as a member of the group MVP (along with Monolith’s Wio-K).

Famous drops the first in a series of freestyles/verses called “Eat You On Your Own Sh*t”. Leave it to the kid to come up with some cocky sh*t like that lol. Anyways, after the success of the Goddess Girl project, looks like Fame is gearing up for his next big push.
So I’m busy in the studio putting together the next Famous project! Been recording a lot and figured to start letting go of some verses. Here’s the first of several I’ll be releasing over the upcoming weeks. Don’t take it the wrong way but I’m eating rappers on their own sh*t!!! – Famous
