Just got put on to this dude Chris Brooks. I totally missed Ty’s post back in July but am glad that I just went back and peeped it (below). Pretty dope. Dude’s also affiliated with that EHLIENS clothing brand which I think is dope also and would happily accept a free hoody from but would also happily pay for one if that opportunity never arises (just saying). Anyways…this vid is from September. Playing catch up and so should you.

A dope example of what Aka Subliminal’s“L.I.F.T. (Laying Important Foundations Together)” initiative is doing for the kids in the area I came up in.
For 5 days these 3 teens from one of Toronto’s priority neighbourhoods (Malvern) took part in a.k.a. SUBLIMINAL’s L.I.F.T. (Laying Important Foundations Together) Music production workshop. The teens created the beat, wrote lyrics and recorded the song entitled ‘GET THAT’, which speaks about life in this part of Toronto but also speaks to how all neighbourhoods are connected and the change has to start from the people (youth) first. The teens also created a second song as part of the Taibu Health Center’s ‘One D.R.A.W. program (Discuss Risks Associated with Weed) in which the teens along with a.k.a. SUBLIMINAL’s help, remixed the famous Rita Marley song One Draw and wrote lyrics that explored the negative effects of weed and substance abuse.
