We had a chance to sit down with Universal/Motown recording artist Colin Munroe a few months back (the interview was aired on OTA Live in July and finally the tapes have made it to the Internet – my bad). Anyways, big shouts to Colin (you have The Unsung Hero mixtape yet?) and if you want to watch the full show/interview just visit www.muchmusic.com/otalive!
Congrats going out to D-Sisive! Video above if you missed it the first time and here’s the official info:
SOCAN (The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) is pleased to announce D-Sisive and Robert Baker as winners of the fourth annual ECHO Songwriting Prize for the song “Nobody with a Notepad”.
Over the summer, an independent panel of 10 music community tastemakers selected the five songs they felt best showed the variety and creativity of independent, up-and-coming Canadian songwriters. Thousands of music lovers voted between September 1 and September 29 and, in the face of some stiff competition, “Nobody with a Notepad” emerged as the winning song!
For further information on the ECHO Songwriting Prize please visit www.echoprize.ca.
In Episode #12, Eternia & beatboxer Chesney Snow take us on a journey to the Midwest for the “B-Girl Be” 2009 Festival. E shoots around “E-Theories” with Evidence (Dilated Peoples), discusses the Midwest’s fave past time w/ DJ Chela, meets a die-hard supporter who drove 5 hours to see E rock, & fits in a lil’ target practice of her own. Who said anything about gun control?
In the upcoming months, eternia will release steady video & audio leaks leading up to the highly anticipated release of eternia & MoSS’s debut album, “AT LAST”. Follow them as they shop for a record deal, promote the album, and countdown to the release date. And you just never know what special guests may pop up… stay tuned!
