Shouts to Eternia! If you haven’t been following E lately, basically her and Toronto-based producer MoSS have an album done called At Last. E took to the web with her “Road To Release” webisodes and started drumming up attention for the project in hopes of securing a record deal for the album. Well….looks like they actually did it and will be announcing which label they signed to on February 26th at the aply titled The “AT LAST” We Got a Record Deal JAM in NY. For more info on the event click here!
Also, check out a few new Eternia interivews (2 here, 2 down bottom):
Watch what E has to say about a future Beatminerz collab, recording w/ female emcees, and what really happened when Eternia visited DJ Dummy’s studio in 2000 after opening for Common. DJ Evil Dee chimes in when he finds out E’s going to be @ SXSW & Bazarro runs like 10 of E’s tunes! E comes in at the 1:00:00 mark.
Watch what happens when E gets asked crazy left-field questions like “if you could sleep with anyone, who would it be?” and “If you could perform with anyone posthumously who would it be?”. This could get politically incorrect people…
Take a look behind the scenes of Melanie’s viral video for “You Stop My Heart” which was released on Valentine’s Day. Pats on the back to whoever decided to put 3 Melanies on screen at once.
Love and Other Struggles (my latest) is the third and final installment of the September Nine mixtape series. Vol. 3 was created as an exploration idea and reality of love. Not simply romantic love (although that is a big part of the topic explored) but love of community, love in friendship, love of family and love of self. This mixtape is an attempt to express many sides of love and the ways in which we deal it. It is the last mixtape that I will be making before my album which I hope to release this summer (finally). See the links below to download Vol.3 Love & Other Struggles.
As part of D’s new blog series, here’s a joint called “The Reign” paying homage to Biggie, Big L and Big Pun. R.I.P.
A dedication to 3 of the most brilliant contributors to Hip-Hop. This song was released on the iTunes version of Let The Children Die (urbnet.2009). Not on the retail version.
And I don’t mean the name of the song is “2 Tracks”, I mean here’s 2 tracks off Rock City’s new mixtape feat. Kardi. “Shut It Down” is over Clipse’s “Popular Demand” and “Right About Now” is over Snoop’s “I Wanna Rock”. Get the full mixtape, Empire Strikes Back, via 2DBz! Shouts to the Blue Jays hat on the cover.
Here’s more footage from Miss Melanie’s first in-store autograph signing at J&R Music World in NY. This clip features a short interview at the end as well as Melanie performing “Ay Yo”. Via 2DBz.
