NEW VIDEO: Homegrown feat. Laila "Day In The Life"

hyperadmin | Audio,Music,Video | Saturday, November 27th, 2010

Download HERE!

New music/visuals from Homegrown (iNA, Introspect, Es, Lep) with Laila featured on the hook.

No this ain’t the Beatles!! Homegrown took the concept and made it their own. Produced by Elaquent, “Day in the Life” lets you follow iNA, Introspect, Es, Lep, and Laila as they give you a perspective of their journeys throughout the Day. It’s only fitting that iNA’s day starts at “6:36 in the AM” and Lep ends with “going to the lab, to drop a verse such as this one on a Homegrown collab.”

“Four emcees… four voices…four minds…raw rhymes come together as one…” as quoted in one of our recent joints entitled “STRUCTURE” accurately represents what we bring to the table as well as the approach that we take to writing and creating. Uniting through mutual friendships with Introspect (Stefan Tochev) in early 2009, Lep (Lamine Martindale), Es (Eseme Elango) and iNA (Bhalinder Bedi) have been able to put in some work and are set to release our debut album, which is currently untitled, in the fall of 2010.

As individual emcees established in our own right and repping our respective crews (Introspect & iNA from iQ Movement. Lep from Fatal Phonetics. Es from Gill Breathing), we each bring a different flavour that makes us a force to be reckoned with.

Set to get our name and music out to the masses, we’ve digitally released our debut single entitled “Day In The Life” for free download which features vocals from Laila and production by Elaquent.

MIXTAPE: US (Jesse & Probs) – The Streets According 2 US (Hosted by DJ Whoo Kid)

hyperadmin | Mixtape | Friday, November 26th, 2010

You want that authentic Scarboro streets ish? Look no farther then Jesse and Probs (aka US) and their new mixtape The Streets According 2 US. Just skimmed through it and “Rain” and “Real Talk” are still my joints (shouts to MegaMan on the beats). Gotta love the Toronto talks on “Homage” too lol. Full tracklist under the hood! Here’s more info on the release/group courtesy of Silvex Media:

Wow ! They did it. The rap duo Us, Jesse an J. Probs, continue to up the ante for the city of Toronto by dropping a solid mixtape * The Streets According 2 Us *, hosted by DJ Whoo Kid of G Unit. All production on the mixtape was done by arguably the best beat maker in Toronto, MegaMan. A great blend of tempo coupled with heartfelt emotion, was captured throughout the entire CD.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Jesse an J. Probs, and I can tell you this, by the hook or the crook these men will get whatever it is that their after. Their maturation as artists has grown over the last 3 years. A testament to countless hours in the studio, has obviously paid dividends. You can actually feel the pain in their music as evidenced on the tracks titled * Rain * & * This Ones for Y’all *. A vivid reality is certainly their keeper.

The group plan on shooting multiple videos for some of the chosen songs off the mixtape in the upcoming weeks. As well as release new music in rapid succession from here on out. I’ve been told by a reliable source that a signing to a notable company is presently in the works. As well as, signing on to open several big shows with some of the music industry’s biggest stars. Speaking of which, its safe to say these two will be among those in the sky. Good luck to y’all!

The only phrase that comes to mind when I see this pic is: “Aaaw cute”, lol!

And my moms/pops would kill me if I didn’t shout out the fam – Demien – doing his thing on this track.

In the spirit of the holidays, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Ayah took a break from their highly anticipated debut album to create a Christmas song that promises to help make the season bright. The song, entitled, Xmas Time, is a nod to the popular holiday tunes that we all so faithfully rely on every year. Its soulful melody puts you in the mood for holiday cheer and spending time with the ones you love.
“Christmas is the one time of year where families and friends are usually able to gather in one place,” said Ayah, when asked about her inspiration for Xmas Time. “Being surrounded by loved ones gives me a warm and happy feeling and this song is the perfect backdrop for the celebration.”

Listeners will fall in love with Jeff’s smooth sound combined with Ayah’s colorful and heartfelt words. The pair paints a vivid picture of Christmas that will make it a classic gem for the holidays.

“I grew up listening to timeless Christmas songs from artists like Donny Hathaway and The Temptations. And I will never forget how those songs make me feel during this time of year. I wanted to create a similar vibe with Xmas Time,” said DJ Jazzy Jeff. “It is a soulful Christmas song.”

Download Xmas Time today to add to your holiday playlist. And Happy Holidays from DJ Jazzy Jeff and Ayah!

NEW VIDEO: Lincoln Blache "Go" (Directed by Shawn Haynes)

hyperadmin | Music,Video | Friday, November 26th, 2010

Directed by Shawn Haynes.

The artist formerly known as Lincoln’s been busy pushing the boundaries of what we’d expect from a rap artist. Since his time with The Foundation (Rochester, Jahvon, Mhedikc, Tone Mason, Stirling) he’s collaborated with The Marshin Academy; changed his name to Lincoln Blache; and pretty much expanded his brand beyond the traditional rap lane; giving himself the room to truly find himself as an artist.

Go” is the first official video to embody his ongoing transformation and is off his upcoming “Lincoln High” EP.
