OTR_shaun_boothe_copy_2_1

All I know about Over The Rainbow is that women seem to LOVE that store. That’s enough to make me a fan. Pretty cool that Boothe‘ll be there for a meet & greet too. He’ll also be using the promo to launch his latest edition of The Unauthorized Biography series……OPRAH!

Waiting Room is available now too! Get caught up with Shaun Boothe below…

“I’m excited to be working with Over the Rainbow on this event. My Unauthorized Biography Series is really important to me, and it’s great that they’re able to help bring more eyes to the bio series. Plus you can’t go wrong with the fresh clothes.” says Boothe.

Not only has he received inquiries from schools wanting to use his Biographies as educational tools, his work has also be tweeted and blogged about by industry heavyweights Ditty Dirty Money and Kanye West.

Boothe, who has hosted RapCity twice this year and recently was interviewed by Donny Osmond on Toronto’s CP24, is dedicated to his work as an artist and also a champion of promoting the importance of education. Sharing this belief, Over the Rainbow will premiere the seventh installment of his popular Unauthorized Biography Series in support of life-long learning. Delivered in rhyme, the seventh installment communicates the life and legacy of one of the world’s most influential women, Oprah Winfrey. Boothe’s Unauthorized Biography Series videos summarize the life stories of history’s most prolific characters. Past installments have featured rhymes about Bob Marley, James Brown, and Barack Obama.

Known as a rites of passage for producers, Boi-1Da (Drake, Kardinal Offishall, Clipse, Eminem, etc.), T-Minus (Drake, Nicki Minaj, T.I.), Big PopsRic Notes,Gigz, Amsterdam-native Neenah and more have all competed in the battle and won in past years.  “This is a huge way of getting out there and exposing yourself on a production side,” says two-time Grammy-Award winner, Boi-1da. “This is how I first started out.”

The weekend will kick off with a Beatz-N-Rhymes Meet & Greet where the 32 finalists will be able to mix and mingle with industry elite and artists. That night, lottery-style, the first-round battle face-offs will also be determined. Next up is the interactive Pro Audio Conference, which will include a Keynote address from 9thWonder, interactive panels on everything from branding to licensing, a critique session where producers will have an opportunity to play a snippet of their work for past BBM winners and live demonstrations from FL Studios and Roland.  On the final day, a beat auction will provide select producers with the opportunity to auction their work to artists and companies seeking out production and Grammy-Award Winning 9th Wonder will be presenting his “The Wonder Year” documentary at a special debut screening.

About Battle of the Beat Makers (BBM)
Founded in 2005, it was created to assist Canadian music producers lacking a platform to showcase their talents in a live setting, as well as to provide networking and educational opportunities to ensure their growth and development in the global music industry.  BBM was birthed to be that national platform.  Since then, it has showcased over 200 producers in a live setting and attracted over 1500 producers across Canada and abroad seeking to get involved with the BBM movement.  Most notably, it is the forum responsible for discovering both 2X Grammy Award Winning and Multi-Platinum Selling Producer, Boi-1Da, as well as, Grammy Nominated and Platinum Selling Producer, T-Minus.

1LOVETO_PaulLeli1

Out of town for this too. Ugh. CONGRATS to the whole fam! Performances by Boothe, P. Reign and more. Chyea.

Toronto — Friday, August 12th will mark the grand opening of the 1 Love T.O. store, located at 707 Dundas St West (East of Bathurst Street) at the Scadding Court Community Centre.

The Live Local Marketplace at Scadding Court Community Centre animates a formerly drab stretch of Dundas Street and supports local economic development by providing an affordable place for small, start-up or non-traditional businesses to operate. Drop by for a meal, local cheese and meat products, bubble tea and much more. On Friday nights, the Market is open late and features performances, additional vendors, a children’s activity area and Street Talk – open air discussions/debates on important issues from 6-10pm.  “This is a fantastic opportunity for the neighbourhood to really celebrate the community and support living locally, a great way to spend a family-friendly Friday evening!” says Adam Vaughan, City of Toronto Councillor.

This community based program and location work hand-in-hand with what 1 Love T.O. represents.

1 LOVE T.O. is about presenting ‘The World In 1 City’ to the rest of the world. It’s a hometown pride that’s never been articulated before.I t’s a movement that bridges the gaps – between cultures, neighbourhoods, interests and generations. 1LoveTO.com is a unique destination, embracing and sharing the best in art, style, music, culture and commUNITY that Toronto has to offer. Forget about the individualistic message of “I love wherever”. Toronto is different. Toronto is one. And we are all the heart of this magnificent city.

Director of redevelopment & special projects for the Scadding Court Community Center, Alina Chatterjee, says: “It’s absolutely amazing to have 1LoveTO at the market- it will draw a very different demographic to our corner, bring a terrific vibe and help both Scadding and the vendors promote the importance of building community, stimulating economy and animating the City”

1 LOVE T.O. shirts have been circulating to people of all different cultures, documented through pictures as they have been worn all over the world. The shirts represent a pride of a unified culture and now there is a finally a central destination as to where they can be purchased.

Tyrone ‘T-RexXx’ Edwards (co-founder of 1 Love T.O.) adds ‘We have been doing pop-up shops for a while now and have had the great fortune of doing them in different parts of the city and being involved with cool events. But people still always ask us where they can get shirts and when the next pop-up shop is taking place. So we are very excited when this opportunity came up because it gives us a central location to have the t-shirts available and it isnt your traditional store. We didnt want to do a typical retail store, this opportunity allows us to do something different, showcase an amazing view of the city and stay grounded in the community.”
