Toronto — Friday, August 12th will mark the grand opening of the 1 Love T.O. store, located at 707 Dundas St West (East of Bathurst Street) at the Scadding Court Community Centre.

The Live Local Marketplace at Scadding Court Community Centre animates a formerly drab stretch of Dundas Street and supports local economic development by providing an affordable place for small, start-up or non-traditional businesses to operate. Drop by for a meal, local cheese and meat products, bubble tea and much more. On Friday nights, the Market is open late and features performances, additional vendors, a children’s activity area and Street Talk – open air discussions/debates on important issues from 6-10pm.  “This is a fantastic opportunity for the neighbourhood to really celebrate the community and support living locally, a great way to spend a family-friendly Friday evening!” says Adam Vaughan, City of Toronto Councillor.

This community based program and location work hand-in-hand with what 1 Love T.O. represents.

1 LOVE T.O. shirts have been circulating to people of all different cultures, documented through pictures as they have been worn all over the world. The shirts represent a pride of a unified culture and now there is a finally a central destination as to where they can be purchased.

Tyrone ‘T-RexXx’ Edwards (co-founder of 1 Love T.O.) adds ‘We have been doing pop-up shops for a while now and have had the great fortune of doing them in different parts of the city and being involved with cool events. But people still always ask us where they can get shirts and when the next pop-up shop is taking place. So we are very excited when this opportunity came up because it gives us a central location to have the t-shirts available and it isnt your traditional store. We didnt want to do a typical retail store, this opportunity allows us to do something different, showcase an amazing view of the city and stay grounded in the community.”
