LINKAGE MOVEMENT LAUNCHES MONTHLY SHOWCASE OF EMERGING URBAN CANADIAN ARTISTS

TORONTO – January 25, 2010 – Linkage Movement is a collective of artists, driven and determined to provide a platform to a thriving niche of urban talent across Canada, starting with Toronto. Linkage Movement is launching their monthly showcase FYI (Follow Your Instinct) on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Harlem Restaurant, 67 Richmond St. E. Toronto. FYI will feature the best of Toronto’s emerging urban artists backed by the 4-piece “Movement Band”.FYI is open to urban artists, vocalists, and rappers, who have auditioned for Dwayne Dixon, newly appointed Vice President of UMAC, The Urban Music Association of Canada. Selected performers have the opportunity to rehearse with the Movement Band to further develop their art of performance. Performers can vary each month.

“It’s been a long time coming but Linkage Movement is excited to launch what will become the home for Toronto’s finest urban artists,” said Dwayne Dixon. “While there are many great events in the city with a similar objective, FYI is unique in that the “featured” artists get to rock with The Movement Band. The Movement band will blow your mind with their song selection. The artists we select will be true professionals who understand the art of performance, and the importance of working with other musicians to prefect their set.”

Founded in 2004, FYI: The Showcase began as a weekly competition event in downtown Toronto, bringing in regular supporters, and assisting in the development of local artists.

FYI is dedicated to the development of these artists and the music industry with this monthly event.
