Toronto, February 4, 2010, CP Records, home to Juno winners Belly and Ivana Santilli, the 2009 MMVA’s most nominated artist Danny Fernandes and Massari’s gold-selling debut album, are hosting the large benefit event at Toronto’s Circa Nightclub with all proceeds being donated to the Canadian Red Cross. CP Records founded by CEO, Tony Sal knows all to well what it is like to live in a nation that is struck by devastation. Hailing from Lebanon and having tragically lost his own family, Tony Sal was compelled to make a difference along with the many other Canadians who have been moved by Haiti’s misfortune. CP Records announced their intent to organize a benefit event to the Canadian Music industry days after the Haiti earthquake and the response was overwhelming.
CP records A&R executive and recording artist Belly shared the same sentiments as Tony Sal, having also bared witness to human suffering as a young child in Palestine. “We’ve just been so moved by the events in Haiti, as have all the performers we contacted and all of Canada for that matter, that we really wanted to do our part to help.” Belly remarked. “Help Haiti Now is going to be a great night of music, special performances and an opportunity for people to get together and show their support.”
Thursday night’s event begins at 10 PM with performances to follow at 12 AM. Artists and CP Records executives will be available for interview prior to and at the event.
