For Immediate Release

Urbanology Magazine’s New Issue Highlights One of Canada’s
Most Sought-After Producers, Boi-1Da

Toronto, ON – Urbanology releases its latest issue this week with one of Canada’s most sought-after producers gracing the cover. After producing the Grammy-nominated single “Best I Ever Had” by Drake and the star-studded “Forever” featuring Kanye West, Lil Wayne Eminem and the aforementioned Drake, all of Matthew ‘Boi-1Da’ Samuels’ hard work is beginning to pay off.

His first feature in Urbanology was when he was only 17, five years ago, after being crowned champion of the Battle of the Beatmakers competition. This producer battle was an annual event sponsored by Urbanology, where the hottest producers in the city would come out and try to take the top spot. Boi-1Da went on to consecutively win this producers battle three more times, before taking the role of a judge.

After sitting down with Boi-1Da for the cover story, it was clear that despite his rapid growth to success, he still remains humble. He is a positive symbol in Canadian hip-hop and continually reiterates the message of always going after dreams and never giving up hope, the theme of this issue.

Also included in this issue is a feature on Bite TV’s Rhyming Chef, world champion beatboxer Scott Jackson and an in-depth feature on corporate Canada’s move to using the urban voice in marketing campaigns. Plus read all about how, after finding a new home in Canada, Death Row Records seems to have a chance at a resurrection
