R.I.P. Anthony "Durty Keyz" James

hyperadmin | News | Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

It is with great sadness that I make this blog post. Last night, Anthony “Durty Keyz” James, from the production duo Burd & Keyz, passed away at the age of 23. Cause of death is still not %100 confirmed but I do know that he was feeling sick as of late last week but when he got to the hospital yesterday it was apparently too late. Some type of infection or something. His passing is completely unexpected and is yet another reminder to us all, as cliche as it may sound, that anything can happen in life and that we should cherish each moment we have alive on this Earth. I really don’t know what else to say here other than I would like to believe that he is in a better place. I feel honored to have had a close professional (and budding personal) relationship with Keyz. He was truly a genuine and nice guy with great talent and even greater potential. For those not familiar with his work, here are a couple of tracks he produced as part of Burd & Keyz. And check the beat demo below to get an idea of the musical direction the duo was headed in. Condolences, respect, thoughts and prayers to his family during this hard time. RIP KEYZ.

  9. First I would like to give my blessings to the his parents. For giving birth to such a talented young man. For no matter how long and yet short we were blessed with his presence.

We will always miss you and Love You. I did not know AJ personally. It was through family and family and more familly that we have had an annual picnic in one of the many parks of Toronto. Sharing laughter, jokes, music, food, soccer, summer family activities full of love, respect and joy. Even if half of one family did not remember all of the names attending the Family BBQ.

Today had to be the most complex July 1st I have ever had to Celebrate. Now every year I shall see the fireworks as a rememberence of a life stopped too soon. Not taking life and any of its blessings for granted.

We all shared the heart beat. Life is too short, but through each note of your keys.

Anthony “Durty Keyz” James you will be song that lives in our heart and minds forever more.

  10. I FEEL LIKE A PIECE OF MY HEART IS MISSING. I DIDNT FEEL I COULD GO ON…. UNTIL I WATCHED SOME OLD FOOTAGE OF US IN THE LAB AND I HEARD ANTHONY SAY “BURD AND KEYZ FOREVER!” WHEN HE FINISHED SAYING THAT TEARS GUSHED FROM MY EYES. AND I FELT REJUVINATED TO GO ON. THANK YOU BROTHER FOR EVERYTHING YOU TAUGHT ME AND ALL THE JOKES U GAVE ME! I LOVE U. AND EVERYDAY I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING U AGAIN IN HEAVEN.
