Andreena Mill Bio
Born in Toronto, Canada Andreena Mill grew up the 3rd child of 5 sisters. Her father, a musician and recording artist himself, recognized her singing talent at the age 3 and put her in piano lessons the very next year. By age 11, Andreena began recording and writing her own material with the help of her influential father.
While attending The Etobicoke School of the Arts, majoring in Musical Theatre Andreena studied and performed Opera, Broadway, Classical and Jazz music. In 2002 Andreena became a member of Canadian female R&B trio X-Quisite. The following year, the group released two successful singles “No Regrets”, which followed with a music video for “Don’t Say”. The songs landed the girls Canadian Urban Music awards and Juno Award Nominations in 2003 as well as
being featured on hit shows such as “Soul Food” and the Canadian hit television show “Degrassi, The Next Generation”. The singles were domestic successes, garnering the girls their first press and video experience. The group disbanded later in 2003, a relentless Andreena decided to take the next steps in her career as a soloist.Finding her individual voice, as an artist, became Andreena’s goal. She began expanding on her music incorporating all
the diverse music formats she grew up knowing and loving. By now a well rehearsed singer, song writer and musician,
Andreena’s passion and vision and natural vocal talent was realized in 2005 when Chase Parsons (Saukrates, Glenn Lewis, Kardinal) a consultant at Chris Smith Management (Nelly Furtado, Tamia, Fe Fe Dobson) approached her to manage her career. Wanting to build on Andreena’s off beat brand of R&B, what she calls, “ Electric Rock’n Soul”. Chase Parsons began building with Andreena in late 2006.The high energy, intense styling of her tracks and depth of writing make you want to listen to again. Simple melodic verses, but intricate metaphoric writing breathes new life into today’s R&B. The distinct electric pop sound mixed with a solid R&B foundation coupled with Andreena’s virtual reality stylings, put Andreena at the forefront of budding new young artist.
While shopping for his own pub deal in New York, friend and producer; Mathew “Boi1da” Samuels played some of his demos featuring Andreena for a few of his possible suitors. The reaction was immediate; after 1 brief meeting Andreena signed with Universal Publishing in late 2009.
Following in the footsteps of female power entertainers, Andreena’s intensity, drive and command of her art, will make her a young leader of industry. With a busy schedule in 2010 it seems future is now and Andreena Mill is poised and ready to be.
