Pretty much agree with y’all on everything (esp. WRT Drake and K’naan) except your Nicki Minaj analysis. I’m far from a big fan personally, but I don’t think you can call her merely a ‘Yes but’ artist. Using your criteria she’s definitely got skills and vision and, while she’s not my cup of tea, she does have musicianship also.
