EVENT: Trixx + Tika Simone Roast @ Intimate & Interactive (Friday, November 5th)

hyperadmin | Events | Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

Promoters take note. Start at a small location. Grind. Move to a bigger location when your night organically grows and can no longer fit in the place where you started. Keep grinding. This is the story thus far of my celebrity crush, Tika Simone (hi Bambi, hi Andreena), and her Intimate & Interactive nights. This week’s event should be completely out of control as Trixx is doing a set and there’s an official Tika Simone roast taking place to celebrate her birthday (LMAO).

Anyways, take note of the new location! See you Friday!

Intimate & Interactive Open Mic was created to bring a sense of awareness around not only performance art but the art of media training in artists as well. Every headliner has been hand-selected to perform and answer questions from the audience in regards to their push and struggle to the top.

Intimate & Interactive proves that everyone has a story and Toronto has many unknown diamonds in the rough ready to take form.

I’ve put my all into this night and I hope to see all of you there.

–Tika Simone

TRIXX BIO:

FRANKIE “TRIXX” AGYEMANG

It’s no secret that TRIXX is known more for comedy than controversy, always hitting the stage with big laughs, leaving the audience wanting more. A finalist in The Great Canadian Laugh-Off, this performer has proven time and again that he’s not only funny, but also insightful and multitalented.

As one of Canada’s next generation of up and coming comedians, TRIXX is already developing quite a following via the college circuit, corporate and concert events, and comedy clubs across the nation. A naturally gifted entertainer, TRIXX has been blessed with the enviable talent of being able to connect with his audience, regardless of race, age or gender.

As a regular on Much Music’s Video On Trial and Stars Gone Wild, fans across the country have gotten to know and love TRIXX and his hilarious trademark characters.

Already a respected performer, he has opened for Aries Spears (of MadTV Fame) and Sugar Sammy (HBO Canada), and is a favorite at the Nubian Disciples of Comedy, hosted by Kenny Robinson. An avid student of pop culture and observer of life, TRIXX offers his unique, fresh and witty perspective on anything and everything, from relationships to race relations, and the hard truths of day-to-day life.

As one of the most sought after performers for various events and comedy stages across Canada, he’s also been called to stages in New York, Boston, and London, England; and was a performer at the 2008 Jamaican International Comedy Festival. Factor in that he’s also a talented DJ with a history in radio broadcast, and it’s no wonder why he’s such a hot commodity.

Riding high off the success of his first one-man show, Mistrial, TRIXX set the wheels in motion for his first one-man show of 2010, entitled Face Value. His first DVD of the same name, which is now available for retail sale. Charismatic and savagely funny, Trixx’s talent lies in knowing exactly when and where to push boundaries and establish new limits.
