AUDIO: Mixtape Massacre – The Final Episode

hyperadmin | Audio | Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

Via TRF. Damn, what a difference a week makes. Shouts to the whole fam and everyone on CKLN who continued the amazing hip-hop legacy that station has (Droppin’ Dimez I SEE you). We feel you. Literally.

Due to the CRTC’s decision to revoke CKLN 88.1′s broadcasting license, many of our affiliate shows like Droppin’ Dimez and Mixtape Massacre have been forced to shut down. The coveted 1-4PM time slot that Mixtape Massacre inherited from us has a tremendous legacy, as it has been home to other pivotal shows like Ron Nelson’s Fantastic Voyage and DJ X’s Powermove that have done a lot for Canadian Hip-Hop. Thanks to Big Jacks, we have the audio of  Mixtape Massacre‘s final show, which includes some fiery mixes, a freestyle cypher by Smash Brovaz, Thrust, 4th Pyramid, Rich Kidd, P R E S S, Tona and Adam Bomb, phone calls from Ron Nelson, K-Os, P-Plus, Citizen Kane and more.  If you are a supporter of community radio, I strongly encourage you to sign the petition on CKLN.FM to keep this station alive.

  2. Sound is kind of suspect unfortunately, but thanks for posting this! This is history that needs to be preserved.
