On Thursday, November 17th, 2011 The Get By invites you to celebrate the release of their debut album “Let Go”.
An album that has been over a year in the making featuring Shad, Rich Kidd, Saukrates, Tona, Tanika Charles, Promise and more will finally be made available to the public on this evening.
Along with the unveiling of the album THE GET BY will be performing live with Tanika Charles, Jared Bellenie [Ace Kinkaid] and Special Guests.
Opening the show will be ELMNT & Lord Quest of the CityCouncil collective.
Music for the evening will be provided by Pangea Delphi & DJ SoundbwoyThis is a 19+ event and includes the album with $10 admission.THE GET BY have been hard at work recording and touring across Canada and are proud to put forth their work to you on this special occasion.

One of the lasting goals for artists in any genre of music is to collaborate with peers at the highest level. Whether that level is creatively based, hinged on popularity or rooted in mutual respect, a true collaboration will highlight the uniqueness of each contributor without diluting the whole. It’s a difficult balance to achieve but when it happens, there’s nothing like it.
Legendary Toronto producer Scam, creator of numerous Canadian classics in the Hip Hop World and pioneering DJ on the revered Power Move radio show has always had the golden touch. Scam’s gritty orchestras and street symphonies have become a hallmark of the Toronto sound backing true school artists Thrust, Frankenstein, Maestro, Concrete Mob and countless others. As an aspiring emcee growing up around the burgeoning Hip Hop scene in Toronto, emcee Theo3 naturally gravitated to the amazing sound Scam was perfecting.
Flash forward to 2011, after meeting up during the recording of the Real Frequency’s critically acclaimed NEW NORTH project, the now established mic controller Theo3 would meet up with one of Canada’s most consistently dangerous producers to bang out a forthcoming album.
Without a second to waste, the duo crafted the soulful, underground heat rock that would become EPIC! A masterfully chopped sample and insightful, on point flows mark this merging of two highly respected Hip Hop creators. In 2010 Anthony “Durty Keyz” James from production duo Burd & Keyz passed away suddenly from a bacterial infection called Streptococcus. He was 23 years old. Before he passed, he had started a project called Keyz of Life. In his honour his production partner Andrew “Burd” Liburd decided to finish the project. Featuring artists like Kardinal Offishall, Luu Breeze, Nickelus F, JD Era, SonReal, Blake Carrington, Shi Wisdom, A-Game, OmarLunan aka Oh!, Promise, Redway, Rich Kidd, Rochester, Divine Brown and more, Keyz of Life not only pays homage to Keyz but also to his flourishing home city of Toronto. Set for a December release, Keyz of Life has already garnered critical acclaim for its first single, “LoveSpeak” by Shi Wisdom feat. KJ:
